All smokers have different reasons for quitting, and therefore different experiences when they quit. Each individual smoker should choose a plan that best works for him or her. The American Lung Association of North Carolina offers various resources to help you stop smoking.

Teens can get help quitting smoking at www.ncnot.com. The site includes a discussion board, tips for quitting, a graffiti wall, and information for helping friends and family quit smoking. Hosted by the American Lung Association of NC through a grant from the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund.

Freedom From Smoking Clinics

Certified facilitators offer group counseling clinics for smokers who want to quit across North Carolina. Our online schedule of clinics will let you know when we'll be in your area!

The American Lung Association of NC provides a free Lung HelpLine staffed by trained health professionals. The HelpLine provides personalized smoking cessation support from qualified quit-smoking specialists. Counselors are available Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to offer proven strategies for quitting.

Nicotine Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women helping each other to live free of nicotine. There are no dues or fees. The only requirement for membership is the desire to be free of nicotine.  The following are Nicotine Anonymous meetings in North Carolina.
