Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation

American Lung Association Program Mini-Grants


Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for a N-O-T mini-grant if you have been trained as an adult N-O-T facilitator. Facilitators are responsible for recruiting teens, coordinating the teen N-O-T workshop, conducting workshop sessions, scheduling cessation follow-up, and reporting your outcomes to ALA of North Carolina.

You are eligible to apply for a T.A.T.U. mini-grant if you have been trained as an adult T.A.T.U. facilitator. You will be responsible for recruiting teens, coordinating the teen training, and reporting outcomes to ALA of North Carolina.

You are eligible to apply for a Freedom From Smoking mini-grant if you have been trained as an FFS Clinic Leader. You will be responsible for recruiting adult participants, coordinating clinic time and location, and reporting outcomes to ALA of North Carolina.

Previous mini-grant recipients are eligible to apply again, however preference will be given to first-time applicants. ALL MINI-GRANT RECIPIENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ADHERE TO THE PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS OF AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION PROGRAMS AS OUTLINED DURING YOUR TRAINING!

Guidelines

Mini-grant funding is to be used for the implementation of N-O-T, T.A.T.U, and Freedom From Smoking, which may include the following: marketing, recruitment, coordination of workshops, facilitating cessation program sessions, peer teaching sessions, and cessation incentives. Funding may also be used as a stipend for the facilitator. For T.A.T.U and FFS facilitators, this stipend amount should not exceed 50% of the total requested funding. For NOT facilitators, this amount may be up to $500 and may be the only funding requested.

Maximum grant allotment for FFS and TATU is $1000
Maximum grant allotment for NOT is $1500
(Please do not request more than these maximum amounts.)
