"Breathing Health Into Life."®

Your American Lung Association is dedicated to reaching communities and individuals across North Carolina with a variety of educational and support programs for children and adults. Our program efforts are focused in three primary areas: asthma, tobacco control, and environmental health. We also offer support programs for people who suffer with lung disease.   • Asthma Education and Management
    Asthma affects 15 million people in the United States, and about 5 million of these are children. In North Carolina, experts believe some 808,000 people suffer from the disease. Asthma is a leading cause of school absenteeism nationwide.

  • Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation
    Did you know that tobacco use, a completely preventable cause of death, kills more people per year than alcohol, drugs, homicide, suicide, car accidents, fires, and AIDS combined? According to the CDC, smoking kills more than 11,511 North Carolinians each year.

    The American Lung Association of North Carolina is dedicated to improving the lives of lung disease patients. From a hotline staffed by medical experts, to local support groups for patients, to funding aimed at eliminating tuberculosis, we have the support you need.
