Tuberculosis Housing & Incentives Fund

In partnership with the Epidemiology Division, Communicable Disease/TB Control Branch, the American Lung Association of NC offers financial resources for health department personnel to purchase or otherwise provide incentives for tuberculosis patients, when such incentives are necessary to ensure compliance with and completion of supervised drug therapy. Non-compliance is a recurrent problem encountered at the local level in treating and preventing TB, and is responsible for the emergence of multi-drug resistant strains of TB.

With medical approval, funds can also be allocated to provide temporary housing to patients receiving care for TB through health departments for the duration of treatment.  For more information, call the Lung HelpLine at 1-800-LUNG-USA.
