Fundamentals of Smokefree Workplace Laws *
National tobacco control advocates have agreed to specific fundamental smokefree
principles. To help guide and maximize the impact of efforts designed to
increase the number of workers and residents in the United States who are
protected from secondhand smoke, this document was created. As you work for
smokefree air, we hope that you will read this document in full and take
advantage of technical assistance and resources from the American Lung

- 2006 State of the Air
Presents information on air pollution on a state-by-state, county-by-county
basis, using the most up-to-date quality assured data available for nationwide
comparisons.
- 2006 State of Tobacco Control
This downloadable report grades tobacco control laws in four key areas: Tobacco
Prevention Spending, Clean Indoor Air Laws, Cigarette Taxes and Youth Access
Laws. It covers laws effective as of January 1, 2007.
- Clean Air Decision 2006
Clean Air Decision 2006 was released as the EPA is about to announce a
final decision on national air quality standards for particle pollution (soot),
the most lethal of all air pollutants. In its report, the Lung Association
analyzed the public health consequences of four different pairs of annual and
daily standards, using EPA data from particle pollution monitors in counties
nationwide from 2002-2004.
